Yesterday morning (at 5:22) we made it happen, and our tiny girl, Anaiah, came out to join us. All are well, big brother is a very proud and excited boy, he slept through the whole thing, lucky duck. He woke up to a sunny day and a brand new little sister, and the gravity of his new station in life -- teacher, protector, entertainer. Like I said, he takes his work very seriously.
In this photo she is a mere 15 hours old, taken by my dad when he stopped by to bring vittels and his camera.
We'll be back soon, after a fair number of long naps!
I heard the happy news at Twisted this afternoon (where I was twiddling my thumbs watching my due date saunter by)! Congratulations on your gorgeous girl! This is such a wonderful picture.
ReplyDeleteThanks, lady! I can't wait to hear similar news on your end, I thought for a moment we might have managed to do this thing simultaneously, but no such luck, eh? Well, one extra week did us no harm, in the end, except to my waning patience...my midwives just kept reminding me that no matter what, it would be soon. Sigh. I'll keep checking in on your blog!
ReplyDeleteAnaiah Lark looks like a fresh radish and a soft rose and all those wonderful treats of June and I bet y'all are that perfect pink color. Well done, sister, and sweet napping. Besos for every cheek!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to you and your family. You both look perfect and lovely and serene!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!! So much congratulations and happiness to you and your sweet family! And I'm so happy to hear the swaddling blanket works, yay!
ReplyDeleteThank you, everyone! I'm pretty chuffed, myself. Especially about all those treats of June, Gemma, all those plus strawberries and cream.
